One Hot Birthday

So my special someone's birthday is coming up here soon and I decided why not make him a card of something he loves?
He is a volunteer firefighter and absolutely loves anything and everything to do with fighting fire and saving lives :) My hero *swoon*!

Anyways I ran across two perfect challenges that fit the idea for his card perfectly!
My Craft Spot and CCR are both hosting shaped card challenges, while DL ART is hosting an anything goes challenge :) YAY ME!
So here is my entry, I hope he loves it!

I am so very pleased with this card :)
I cannot recall where the idea for the firetruck shaped card came from, but kudos to whomever thought of this great idea!! I tweaked that design a bit with the inside of the truck showing with the lil firefighter on the inside. The paperdoll came from The Quilling Patch.

Time Flies

Oh this is the perfect challenge to be competing in considering I have not been able to update my blog in the last little bit.
Whimsical Designs is hosting a challenge in which the competitor must incorporate either something with wings -or- a clock into their project.
Below is a card I made for my mother for her birthday. She loves flowers and what goes better with flowers than butterflies?

Double Slider with MTC file freebie

I made my first double slider card today and I seem to have went on an interactive card kick. I just love how such a simple card can bring a smile to peoples faces. The following card I made for my boyfriend's mother for her birthday and she just could not get over "how cute and clever" this card is:

As for my last couple cards I used a tutorial from Splitcoast stampers. Go
here for an awesome step-by-step plus video tutorial on making this wonderful card.

And as always for all of you out there who use Make-The-Cut I have designed a cutting file for this card to take most of the work out of it. Go download that file now and make your own version of this card.
I would love to see everyone elses take on this card and the others posted before as well as some feedback on how the files worked out for others.

Spinner Card plus MTC template

Another cute card for today with a template. I just love this interactive card.
Here is my example:

I used some more of the Hampton Arts stamps that I bought and some new stamps that good ole Wal-Mart carries for just $1.00 for a set of three clear sets. This brand is Studio G a division of Hampton Arts. They not only sell stamps for $1.00 but also ink pads, acrylic blocks, flocking, glitter, adhesive gems, packs of cardstock, and other miscellaneous embellishments. It is a bargain shopper's or in my case college student's paradise.

Here is the file I have created for this as I did not have the word window punch:

Again I used a tutorial from Splitcoast Stampers. You can view that here. They do not have a video for this so here is a super one.
I hope you enjoy these files I have shared today. Give me some feedback!

T-Slide Pop Up Card plus MTC Template

I ran across this adorable idea last night while trying to get my sleep schedule back to normal(staying up all night and day). Sadly my nights and days were mixed up.

Any-who I had to make one but I am so against measurements that it isn't funny so I made myself a MTC file and I will be sharing that with you all today too! This already easy to make card has just about become effortless!

Here is my take on the card:

Now for what I used:
The pastel paper is from the Martha Stuart Collection.
The stamping sentiment is a Hampton Arts Sentiment. I bought their footlong clear stamp set at Big Lots for $1.50!
The little bee is a Cricut image from the Create a Critter cartridge.

I got this wonderful idea from Splitcoast stampers. What an awesome site!
